Megan Fox Fired from Transformers Franchise?

The comments uttered by young actress Megan Fox was made almost two years ago but the controversies just caught up now.  The young actress, who was made popular by the Transformers movie franchise, spoke quite negatively about the movie’s director Michael Bay.  She compared his directing style to a modern day Hitler – making her work for hours, having a “bullying” kind of personality in the set.  This comparison was made during an interview done in September 2009.  Upon hearing the comment made by Fox, the movie’s producer, Steven Spielberg instantly decided that the franchise will no longer include her in the third and last installment – Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

If it was just up to Michael Bay, Megan Fox might still be a part of the film.  He said he wasn’t offended a bit because he knew Megan and that she loves to get a response from her comments.  But Spielberg really took it hard when he knew what Fox said: “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him.”

Even co-actor Shia LaBeouf didn’t go out of his way to defend his leading lady.  His opinion was if someone starts talking bad about the captain of the movie, there’s nothing else to do but let go.  He also added that Megan Fox didn’t really understand Michael Bay’s directorial style and that maybe she cannot accept that she is seen in the movie as a sex-symbol.

Meanwhile, the team of Megan Fox told People Magazine that the young actress decided to not be part of the third installment.  According to them, Megan wasn’t fired but just decided not to return.

Whatever it is, it must have been Fox’s inexperience that made it difficult to accept eccentricities of some directors and artists.  Being a newcomer, she cannot really have a say yet on how she should be handled.  Even the people working under Michael Bay wrote and open letter saying that Megan Fox should be thankful that she was given a great opportunity to act under great filmmakers.  They ended the letter saying that Megan is a far cry from Angelina Jolie.

Megan Fox is replaced by Victoria Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley.  The movie will be on July 2011!
